Coopersville Seeks DDA/Chamber Director

The Coopersville Downtown Development Authority and Coopersville Area Chamber of Commerce in Coopersville, MI, Pop. 4,369 are in the process of enacting an enhanced partnership, including the merging of staff and sharing a joint DDA/Chamber Director. The agencies are seeking a DDA/Chamber Director ($18.00/hr. to $20.00/hr. DOQ, prior experience and skill sets. This is a part-time position estimated at 25-32hrs per week with limited benefits). The DDA/Chamber Director serves as the primary staff of the Coopersville DDA and Chamber of Commerce and works with to both the DDA and Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (2 separate board) and works in close partnership with City Staff. This position requires knowledge of basic management and administrative procedures. The incumbent must be able to effectively plan and organize the delivery of DDA and Chamber services. This position requires attendance at monthly DDA board meetings (2nd Tuesday of the month at 5:15PM) and bimonthly Chamber Board Meetings (first Wednesday of every other month at 7:30AM). The position regularly interacts with local businesses, as well as local, regional, and state agencies to provide professional business development services. The position also engages in the planning and execution of marketing for Discover Coopersville (the joint operating name of the two organizations). Proficiency in Social Media is highly desired. This position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and prior work experience in one or more of the following: DDA, Chamber of Commerce, economic development, non-profit, marketing or similar type agency(ies). An earned Associates Degree is preferred, but not required.
