MDA Board of Director Opening

Thank you for your interest in serving as a member of the Michigan Downtown Association (MDA) Board of Directors.  All Board of Directors must be elected from the full membership of the MDA.  Board elections are typically held on an annual basis during the MDA Annual Conference.
Candidates should be:
  • A member of the association in good standing;
  • willing to serve a four-year term;
  • willing to serve on a committee, chair a committee, or serve as an officer during their term;
  • able to attend board meetings regularly, cannot fail to attend three consecutive meetings;
  • able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge in the professional practice of downtown development in Michigan, generally attainable within 2 to 3 years of on-the-job experience

  • Conference
  • Legislative
  • Membership
  • Marketing
 
Typical Board of Director meetings include
  • 2-day January Board Retreat (location to be determined, overnight stay)
  • During Spring Workshop (March)
  • Afternoon before Summer Workshop (Late May-Early June, location to be determined)
  • Afternoon meeting in July (location to be determined)
  • Evening before Annual Conference (Late October-Early November, location to be determined)
  • Conference calls as needed
